Problem with '74 - '80 Recaro Sport Seat

When my car came back recently following a re-paint, the passenger seat back was stuck in a straight upright position, neither the release on the outside of the seat back or the reclining lever at the base will release it. Any possible help with a cause or solution would be greatly appreciated.

I would look at this first. ^^^

Are the release knob and handle moving or are they jammed? If they are moving I would first look at the cable to determine if it is in tact. Then look at the end near the seat bottom. The retaining clip may have broken or came loose.

Both the release knob & handle are moving; one of the seat back catches is moving slightly, the other isn't moving at all. I Have checked the cable and it is not unhooked or broken

Have you checked the air pressure in your tires and topped off the oil?
