1975 3.8, G50, RSR Style Backdate Project, NO SMOG Worries!

Well we are starting a new project and there will be no smog worries this time around! We bought the car almost 2 months ago and it just arrived today from Canada. I do not know alot as I just got it and it was raining quite a bit. It did start right up and I was able to drive it home, a short 2 miles, but we made it.

What I do know about the car is that it is a 1975 non sunroof coupe with a steel widebody, G50 transmission, 3.8 993 engine, bolt together roll cage, late sport seats, simmons wheels and it is black. I got it from an ad on facebook that another pelican sent me asking if I thought it was a good deal. I immedieatly put a deposit on the car and told my buddy that I did but if he wanted it he could of course still have it. He passed on it so we were able to acquire it.

We will be busy the rest of this month finishing up a customer car for Luft 5, but after that we'll start disassembly of this one and see what is hiding in this pre galvanized chassis. I will also start posting items for sale from this car in the classified section.

Wow! Another one to watch with interest!

I always find it amazing, what you can pick up at Sams Club!

I'm guessing the 3.8 is a keeper?

YES! This one is going to be killer!

A Facebook ad??

Who are these people? How could someone with a 3.8 and a G50 in a smog-exempt widebody coupe just shrug and throw it up on Facebook...

No deals for the amateurs.

I hope your 'buddy' and 'another pelican' are the same person... if it was me, I'd be pissed that someone on pelican jumped on an ad that I was asking about. (one of the reasons I will probably never ask advice on an ad)

Yes the buddy and pelican are the same person. I did not try to buy the car out from under him, just put the deposit on it so no one else could get it. I called him and told him what I had done and left it to him to decide if he wanted it or not no pressure , and thanked him when he passed on it and now I owe him a favor. I could never go behind a friends back on anything, but I have seen deals lost on indecision. I would have been happy for him to get the car if he wanted it.
