Show my buddy your steering wheel...

A friend of mine is looking to replace his factory steering wheel in his '86 coupe. I figured a thread like this would help him decide which one to buy.

Mine's like the one attached except I have the horn button with the Porsche crest.

I went with the 930S wheel in my '86 coupe. I also put the Porsche crest on it, which is not pictured here:

Here is mine. It is deep dish so it keeps me from turning on my wipers or turn signals in the heat of battle.

Hey...
While you guys do this...why not post the diameter too ( 320, 350, 365 mm, etc)?...would give us a little more insight on things..

Ill be replacing the wheel on my 88 as soon as I get the other odds and ends taken care of. Im sure I can find the diameter of the 930S wheel, but Im not so sure about the OEM 4 spoke. How much smaller is the 930S wheel... or is it?

OEM 4 spoke is 380 mm outside-to-outside.

Common aftermarket is 350mm...obscures vision to some gauges ( maybe)...requires rotating instruments or using offset adaptors.

Note..factory mount has wheel mounted offset on an eccentric. If you ever have your car on jackstands...spin your wheel and view the top of the steering wheel moving up and down about 1/2"-1" ( ! ).

I would be interested in the old steering wheel if your friend want to get rid of it. Thanks.
