Before and after pics

Getting closer to installing the engine and I thought I would share some pics. A little hard work is sometimes very rewarding.

Very nice Slider....and just take 20 or 30 runs in the car after the install....that won't cure the madness but it will help the symptons.

Verry nice, wish mine was that clean.

Is there a brace or something between the two shocks in the after picture, if so what is it, and is it for the same purpose as a brace would be used for on the front shock towers.

Cheers Jakes

It is a good idea to put in a shock tower brace on the rear if you are doing a lot of track events however, the part in the after picture is my air conditioner line that I just tied up out of the way.

The car is the same color as ours too. What is the "official" name and code of this color? We have always just called it copper.

We have always called ours more of a gold. I have seen two different versions of this color on the same year car. One is more copper than the other.

The color on your car is more gold than mine. Mine has more of a brown tone.

So which one is this?

(by the way great looking car)

79targa,

Thanks, isn't it funny how many pics everyone has of their cars up on jackstands or without wheels or engines. My owners gallery is proof of my picture archives......

CS, my 74 was repainted similar to your color, more brownish tone than copper and looking to get it painted in same color, do you have yr and color name,as I don't think it is a porsche color. Surflvr has a very close match tho, but not quite that tone. thanks.

As far as I knew it was the original color. There is a 79SC Targa here at work that is the exact same as mine. I can look for a color code on the car?

I am in the same quandry as you except I have decided enough is enough and my engine bay still doesn't look as good as yours. Its like all of the PO's never took the time to really apreciate what they had and now its up to me to bring it back to its former glory (at least a little closer anyway). I like what youve done.
