Hmmm, seems that it *may* be difficult to push on the pedal, or get much feel at that location. Also, to be effective you'd probably want the brake and accelerator pedals at the same height to start. Then again, I am not a heel and toe expert :) I usually just double-clutch it. Flame suit on!

One problem I could forsee is that your pedal is very close to the fulcrum. Therefore your blips might be rather erratic since you will need more force to accomplish the desired effect. I know that other manufacturers out there have them low too but I prefer having the top of my accel. pedal closer to the top of my foot so I can roll the outside of my foot onto the gas to accomplish the blip. It's a nice looking piece though!! What kind of CNC did you make that on?

My car seems ideally suited to heel & toe without anything like that. While braking with the ball of my foot, I can twist over & blip with my heel pretty comfortably. I don't even have big feet. A little flat maybe..

Nothing wrong with your ingenuity, you have saved yourself $150 and I bet it works just fine..
I covered my pedals with 1/8th inch aluminum, and drilled them for the racer look, cost me $6 dollars and about 4 hours labor. I shimmed the throttle pedal with some plywood so it was at a better height for heel/toe.
Maybe you might fabricate sometning to cover the whole pedal.

Looks good for people who actually "heel-and-toe" with their heel. I prefer doing it with the ball of my foot on the brake and rolling my foot slightly using the right edge of my sole to blip the gas. The 911 is the only car I've ever owned where the pedal separation (both left and right and in and out) was already perfect.

Hi Jon, it's really not that big... it only sticks out 2-1/2 inches from the left side of pedal. I will mount it on my car this weekend and take some more pics. There is actually plenty of room between the Brake pad and Heel pad.

I'd think a bit about the torsion being put into the hinge by the twist you'll have by being off-center. If it's flexing plastic at the bottom of the pedal I'd expect that to fail.

Otherwise it seems that it will work after you get used to the feel, blips are a matter of timing as long as you can learn to work the pedal. If you can't get happy with that design, make the extension taller.

Hi Charlie, in this set up there is plenty of area displacement..there is no flex at all.. Have you ever had the gas pedal off? The honey combe characteristics of the plastic mold are very stiff.
