Aftermarket on engine oil coolers
Hi,
Has anyone used one of the new aftermarket on-engine oil coolers that are available now. Are they as good as an OEM, are they better than a 20 year old original? Thanks, Pat |

I beleive that the most prevlent reasons that the guy like to use the Porsche stuff are these:
1. They work 2. They fit 3. Some sort of snob appeal. Reasons 1&2 are good enough to use the original types. I have a car with an aftermarket one. Turbotrol is the name. I don't think that it works correctly but that doesn't seem to be the problem with the cooler. It's probably the valve at the rear wheel well. I believe that its stuck open. I have replaced failed factory valves. From what I can remember the last one was stuck shut. Good luck, David Duffield I have also |

Thanks for the input, but I'm talking about the aftermarket coolers that bolt directly to the engine. They are sold by a number of the aftermarket porsche parts suppliers.
