Current flow diagram help

I have a 1974 911 that someone cut the rear wiring harness close to the 14pin connector on the engine relay panel, I have identified most of the cut wires, but I have a brown with white tracer and a solid green coming from the front that go to the 14pin connector that I can't identify. The flow diagram shows them going to the 14pin, but not connected to any thing on either end, any help would be appreciated.

I’m no help in your quest but am curious where your diagram is from.

The diagram is from the factory repair manual.

The solid green is for the sporto temp gauge.

Brown w/ tracer, is some MFI control? Porsche used this color for other stuff, so you need to see where is goes. Later cars used it for seat belt warning. But that wire did not go to the engine compartment.

You might want to get one of the older car's diagrams that have the wire layout. Most of what is in the '71 schematics will be similar to what your car has. Porsche was always making changes, so no diagram will be 100% accurate.

Green is a spare on a standard trans. ( for sporto) Hangs out behind the gauges. Pin 2 on 14 pin male.
Brown/white is also a spare on standard trans. Comes out near the shifter for the switch on the sporto shifter. Pin 7 or 8 on 14 pin male.( can’t recall right now, doesn’t matter as neither are used on your engine harness)

Thanks for the info. Does the flow diagram note the potential use of those wires somewhere? or just let you know where they terminate.

Hi Matt,

No wiring diagram expert here ... however, I believe your pic shows them terminating at the T connectors. So look for the corresponding connectors elsewhere in the pic.

T's are the connectors. You need the workshop manual which has the location of all the "plug connectors" , ground points and the other components. Otherwise the older wiring diagrams will give you a clue as to where everything is located.

The latter.
Reading these forums for many years has filled in the blanks.
That, and building lots of new harnesses for people. :)
