Question Heated Seats for a 993? How Much$?

A guy that I work with is interested in getting some of the Heated seats for his 993 Cab. Hes said that he found a pair that need to be recovered for $1000. This seems high for seats that need recovering. I remember seeing electric seats (not heated) in good shape for around $800.

What should I expect to pay for electric/heated seats? will earlier seats, ie. 964, fit in the 993?

TIA,
Mike D.

PS - Anybody have some for sale?

Mike:

That's exactly what I am looking for for my targa. I'm looking for something that needs recovered so I can finish it the way I like. I figure my chances of finding black fresh looking leather heated seats is pretty low. I believe everything up though a 993 is interchanageable.

I'd say from what I've seen 6-800$ is reasonable. IMHO..

I bought a set of (as new) black leather electric & heated 993 seats in Sweden for 1117 Euro which is a good price.

All 993 seats are heated and has electric hight adjustment. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Mikkel:

Correction ;-) … Here in “hot” Hong Kong are all 993, even 996, delivered without heat in the seats.

Buying new seats (new to you, anyway) w/ factory heat isn't necessary. Go to a car upholstery place and get heating elements added. Plenty of posts on the rennlist 993 list covering this. Pretty straightforward. Good luck.

Ok didn't know that. I was under the impression that all 993s had heated seats. But at least I think German market 993s have.

A second dane here, living in HongKong though Welcome anyway.

It is pretty easy to add seat heaters to your exisiting seats...you can get some here...

http://www.rameinc.com/seat_heaters.htm

You can also purchase the factory seat heater elements and add them to your exisiting seats.
