I was trying to get insurance, Hagerty turned me down for one ticket 3 years ago because it was 18 mph over the speed limit. Then I tried another company, they told me if I go out for a drive and get coffee, the car would not be covered. Does this seem crazy or is it just me? I know this has been posted but who all are you using for insurance and did you have these problems. I am 37 with basically a good record minus this one ticket three years ago.

I'm pretty sure I use nationwide and as a 21 year old with 1 ticket at 19 (15 over) my full coverage for my 73 is $300/year.

try a search for "classic car ins" they are out of indianapolis. all the classic car insurance carriers have mileage usage limits. they saved me $500 a year

I always think of insurance as legalised fraud
I'm still having problems with my insurance almost 3 months after making an agreement. Oh and somehow my 911 has been transformed into a 924 Carrera GT I told the company twice that they somehow got it wrong...... Recently I received new papers.....for a 924 Carrera GT At least they promised to correct the price so there's hope.

I thought insurance companies could only go back 3 years? So, wouldn't that 18mph-over ticket be off of your (insurance) record by now? If not, I would make a few calls to your state DOL.

And Mikkel I agree with your thinking, it is legalized fraud. |

they can go back three for the cost figure, but look back 5 to get a history. the caifornia DMV keeps it on the books for 3, the insurance companies have a co-op of sorts, a net work that keeps it too five.

Look back and surcharge period is 7 years in Massachusetts. Along with the snow, another reason not to live here.

I'm with Metropolitan (MetLife). They're great. I did not have a special valuation done when I registered my 82 911SC. I wonder (any tips here?) if that's a good thing to do?
