Lobster vinyl material for interior

Has anyone found a source for AUTHENTIC looking replacement vinyl or leather for the mid 1970's Lobster color? It's more orange than anything else. The 'Classic9' shop doesn't know of a source, and any available material is definitely more red and does not have the correct mottled look to the color.

Matt - that color vinyl is russet red. I was able to get some NOS vinyl from World Upholstery a few years back and bought up everything they had. Which was almost enough to do my interior, I have some used small pieces, how much material do you need? Feel free to send me a PM.

That is as close as you will get, not mottled, but pretty much indistinguishable.

There was a Russet Red interior available 74-76 that is definitely too red, nothing like Lobster vinyl. The Lobster leather is more red than the vinyl, a little closer to the Russet shade, but the Lobster still has more orange tone.

I'm deciding weather to go to 100% Lobster leather, or abandon the effort and go to a later red color like 'Carrera Red'.

Looked it up online, found it there under the English car leather. Looks definitely red, nothing like Lobster vinyl.

Need this, Lobster vinyl. You can't see the dark mottling in this photo.

Have them send you samples, you can’t tell from a photo or on your screen.
I had to look through about 10 samples.

THIS -- so many variables come into play when one's looking at a photo/etc. NEED to compare actual samples.

It's a 1977. Fresh glass out repaint in the original shade of black, would look stunning the way it was delivered new with lobster guts. A previous owner didn't like it and redyed the interior black.

I have been on the look out for this ....

Have found out that 74 to 76 is different from 77 to 79 and I think the red after is called Can Can

I have the rear quarter panels for a coupe in the 77 lobster red color

Bob at 'Classic 9' said it's a no-go on good lobster vinyl. We're getting in samples of the available lobster leather. Dash, plus door and quarter caps are going black vinyl for durability (like the late SC).

Can Can came in for '78 but it's too neon for me! If its not lobster I'll go a darker red like 'Carrera Red'.

The vinyl is definately orange with a subtle dark mottling through it. The available lobster leather seems to be medium red with a slight orange-clay tint, nothing like the OE vinyl. More red than Boxster Red.

Love that color but it would clash with a red car...

Need Lobster 1/4 panels

Arts911 - do you still have those Lobster 1/4 panels? If so, do you want to sell them?
Trying to match the mottled orange/red color on our 1978 911 SC coupe - if that's what you have I'd be interested.
Photos make it look more red than it is.
