Unique 1974. RSR content.

Saw a very unique 911 at a restoration shop today.

This 1974 Carrera (1 of 200) was purchased new at Brumos. The owner asked for more horsepower. Porsche had available at the time an RSR engine kit, of which apparently six were sold. So this car had the 2.8 RSR engine and transmission installed as well as Recaro leather seats. Approximately 300 HP. Fate of the other five kits appears to be unknown. This car has all paper work from day 1 and is undergoing a thorough restoration in the USA. Sorry for the crappy photo.

No muffler, just straight pipes.

The decal on the rear window is an engine silhouette with "2.8l" written on it. It came with the RSR kit.

Those vents on the rear tail wing are something I've never seen before. I wonder if that's factory or someone added those to the tail??

No they make the Tails like that . On the 930 it was for the AC condenser.

Tales game with and without that second set of vents.

That’s standard for a middie Carrera or Turbo Carrera.

I’m skeptical on the 1 of 6 “kit” claim. These were race parts that were available as spares. It’s a neat car but it’s not that unique.

I noticed the rear most “vent” on the tail and inspected it. It is simply decorative; it is an indentation with a small grill piece, and it does not vent anything. Odd for Porsche.

If there isn't an actual opening, it's not factory. The small secondary opening tails were on non a/c 930 cars

Real tail vent should look like this (taken from the Feb '18 Panorama article):

I see the 2 loud pipes there too. Loud pipes save lives. Approve
