Cat on aftermarket 930 exhaust.
I'm still not having any luck finding a good (silver) '79 930 in Texas, so I'm starting to think about an '86 to '88 model. The problem is that I want an aftermarket exhaust and Houston, TX has smog testing for any car built in the last 24 years. Are any of the aftermarket 930 exhausts set up to use a catalytic converter? Particularly one that could easily be taken on and off once a year for testing.

Hey Shifter,
I have a 86 930 that is a matter of fact for sale, and it does not have a CAT. When I take it in for smog, I just take it to my wrench, he plugs in the O2 sensor adjusts the mixture and she passes with flying colors. When the smog is done, off comes the sensor and readjust the mixture. Most of these cars will pass smog with the mixture adjusted. The people at the smog places have no idea about these cars. My wrench said if it doesn't pass, they will put a cat on it, then run in thru smog, then take it back off. So in my opinion, I would not worry about it at all.. Hope this helps...
