Hose to airbox

On the cars with the 2-piece air box, the 3.2 engines, what’s the purpose of the hose that feeds into the air box? Thanks

The hose connects to the charcoal canister.

If you have Bentley Manual, see page 240-23. Vapors are drawn from the fuel evaporation chamber through the charcoal canister into the intake.

There was a large sticker on the underside of the rear deck lid that had a diagram of the system, which naturally didn't get transferred to the replacement lid when I got rear-ended many years ago. The sticker was this diagram, which clearly depicts what Techno Duck wrote. Hope this help might be a good thing to copy/save...
