Sealed beam headlights? Sylvania vs Hella?

I've found plenty of discussion on H4 replacements, etc... but I see two options for sealed beam headlights from our host.
I see the sealed beam sylvania:

And some from Hella (with a comment: 'Note: 12 Volt 7" Round H4 Conversion Halogen Headlight Bulb')

Has anyone had experience with these?

The first one is the old fashion sealed beam that the american 911s with the sugar scoops used. Pathetic light by today's standards.

The second is a sealed beam REPLACEMENT that uses an H4 bulb. Can be very bright.

There is a recent thread discussing this in great detail if you search this forum.

Go with H4 replacement lights they are not sealed beams so you will need to make sure bulbs are included. If not just order them with fixtures If you go with 80/100 you will need a relay if standard and legal 55/65 you want need Much better light

Got it, thanks, so it's an H4 inside. I did a search before posting, but didn't come up with anything. After some more keywords, it looks like this is the thread you're referencing, sorry for missing it:
what is the differnce between Hella and Bosch H4 headlights?

It seems that the relay kit would be recommended with that hella bulbs as well, so it appears that just doing the upgrade makes sense given everything else I've read.

You can pick up a pair of Hella 70476 E-codes for $80, or some no name 7" E-codes for $35 at busdepot.com

Unless you want to maintain the absolute stock appearance, and I understand that, why not try out a set of LED headlights?

I like the idea of LED lights a lot, but do have concern about changing the appearance as you noted. The lowest cost sets I've found are ~$1k, that experiment is not within my budget right now. Unless there's a less costly plug-and-play option out there?

If I went with an H4 setup I'd use Cibie. They are much nicer then Hella and cost only fractionally more.
