VDO Rebuild, Gauge Correct Black Paint

Hello, I searched around and can't seem to find an answer.

My stock speedometer gauge in my 1973 911 has the paint flaking off the metal bezel outer trim ring, was the black paint originally black gloss, semi gloss, or matte black? Not sure after all these years of my original black oxidized

Does anyone know the correct sheen before I repaint all the gauges to match?

Thanks- Patrick M

I kept digging and it seems the answer is:

Wurth matte black lacquer is hard to get but some people think it's ok match
Krylon Semi-Flat Black is close to original
the closest to stock is: Rustoleum Satin Black #7777

Hopefully that helps someone in the future!

Good question, I'm assuming a vinyl decal would be best? That's my guess. Not sure if others know
