Oil drain gizmo

Hi,
I removed this little plastic gizmo that looks like te coming from the bottom of the cis box and outside the oil cooler for any excess oil I guess. Picture is not from my engine.
I canít find it anymore, must have gone in the garbage or something.

What is this part called and can I not run just a tube to the side of the oil cooler?

Thank you

You can't run a straight tube, because I believe that that would introduce un-metered air (vacuum leak) into your airbox. The end has a drip diaphragm so that when the oil level is too high, it enters the airbox and drains out the back, and into the rubber tube thing you see pictured there, where it slow drips out. The end has enough tension and maybe some oil in it so that it keeps air out.

I did a little write up of this tube in what I dubbed "The Pyramid of Death"
