911sc Ignition Switch wiring question

Folks, quick question on the 911 ignition switch wire connections. The ignition switch assembly has two electrical connections - the big round black one behind the key and a second smaller one with two pins along the metal shaft that goes to the steering column.

Question - what is the purpose of the small 2-pin connector ? What does it connect to or control ?

I ask as the pins have broken off on mine and the wires that connect to that connector are hanging disconnected, and I'm wondering if that should be concerning me or not.

Thanks!

Aha, thank you David! I hate buzzers which is why I guess I never noticed it missing... and I don't need to repair it.

Cheers
Brad
