Kendall GT-1 High Performance no longer available?
Hi all,
I've got an 88 3.2. I've always run this oil: Kendall 1057267 GT-1 High Performance SAE 20W-50 Motor Oil with Liquid Titanium But I can not seem to find it. I can find this: Kendall 1074969-12PK Liquid Titanium (GT-1 Competition with 20W50. Did the later replace the prior? Are they equivalent? Is the competition version a good fit for the 3.2? Thanks in advance! |
What?? You should be using the very best oil which is..............

I usually have to special order a case. Go to where you bought it last and see if you can special order it. I also seem to have to special order their gear oil, also of quality. NOTE: Full product line including the Titanium synthetic is on their website. https://www.kendallmotoroil.com/products/motor-oil?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn_-8urzB2gIVC49pCh3eIgtuEAAYASAAEgIiXfD_BwE Put your zip code in to this webpage. https://www.kendallmotoroil.com/marketers/ The Distributor above might tell you where your local retailer is, or just contact Kendall. |
Look on Amazon if you cant find it here first. Readibly available.

A fairly large oil distributor in an industrial park that I drive near has Kendall products as one of his main lines. He also does Brad Penn which was/is a close relative. His pricing is extremely good so I have no reason to buy oil anywhere else. He'll sell by the case to anyone that has a "Company Name" so that's the type place I enjoy buying from as they are always extremely helpful. If not in stock will get you anything from the suppliers they sell. Always interesting to purchase from these places.

Southern Counties Oil in Orange CA is where I get my Kendall GT-1 "Liquid Titanium" 20-50 race oil.
They also provide "fresh" canned race fuel, as in every type of Sunoco race fuel produced. Only NASCAR can use the fuel pumps @ Fontana. So, Southern Counties supports Trackside Fuel this weekend @ CFOS, Thx Richard |
I’ve always ordered it by the case on Amazon. Not having to carry it home is another nice perk.

Kendall website says the new red bottle GT-1 Competition is formerly known as GT-1 High Performance.
Don’t have the old oil specs but the new bottle 20w50 is listed with Phosphorus wt% 0.109 Zinc wt% 0.120 Only the new stuff looks to be available on Amazon. |
I think it might be cheaper if you go to kendalmotoroils.com, and order directly through them (PSC) with no shipping charge. Yes, they did change the bottles to the new red look. I smiled when I received my case and saw the label on the outside that read: "A Box of the Good Stuff."

Another great oil debate opportunity- Is “A Box of the Good Stuff” Guards Red approved or does the Green Oil from Brad Penn got what our powerplants crave?
-Thanks for pointing out the savings direct with Kendall online. |
Thanks all for the replies - I'll give the Competition a try. Sounds like its equivalent/replacing the high performance variant
