Alarm lock cylinder able to be disassembled?

Hi brains trust!

My next riddle: have bought the correct HUF key blanks for my alarm system cylinder/lock... but how do I now access the barrel for a locksmith to cut the keys to work in the existing lock? It seems to be pressed/glued together. Cannot see any way to access the barrel without destroying the cylinder...

Anyone any ideas or has done this before? Or do the locksmiths have a magic way to cut keys without having to pull out the barrel?

Appreciate your help.

Hi: If it was me, I would bring it all to my locksmith and ask him how he will make the key.

I think the alarm switch has 2 distinct resistance values. One for armed and one for disarmed. If you simply unplug it I believe it defaults to armed. I'll check the manual and update with details here shortly.

A great locksmith can dust the key and cut to the dust imprint on the wafers.
There use to be a guy cutting keys at Hershey, Ski Roundtop, and Mechanicsburg, P/A and he would cut to blanks and make keys from ignition cores.
If you disconnect the switch, car won’t start

Alarm switch on should give 2-3 K ohms
Alarm switch off should give 4-5.5 K ohms
So if you remove the switch, you will need to replace it with a resister of the correct value.

The switch will definitely be reinstalled, so no need for dummy resistors or else. Will take the whole shebang to a locksmith and see what they can do.

Just thought someone might have pulled the barrel out somehow and rekeyed it themselves like people did with the door locks.

I recall seeing an ad for an Aussi or NZ locksmith who can cut a key from a picture or dust the tumblers. A little google searching should find it.

Thank you. I'd prefer not to use that company. Anyone else doing this work?
