compression test question......
 

I ready to do a compression test on my 911(1974 w/CIS). I have a remote started switch to turn over the engine. Where is the best place to hook up this remote starter switch. I could go down to the solenoid, but wondering if I could use the fuse block in the engine compartment? Also, do I need to lift the flow sensor plate while I have the throttle body open?

Any other tips would be appreciated..

I would think the starter would be the best place to hook up a remote switch. You need not lift up on the sensor plate, but you should have disabled the fuel pump. Engine warm. All the plugs out. Good luck.

Thanks Superman for the reply. I just completed the compression test. I ended up using ignition switch with fuel pump disabled. I also opened the throttle body up with the spring diconnected.

With the throttle open, all plugs out, fully charged battery, unfortunately engine cold (I have the engine ready to be removed)

What is the opinion on these results?

I am not sure how much difference would there have been if the engine was at operating temp? This is a 2.7 rebuilt 70k miles ago in 1981.
