Question Does the 915 RennShift add noise?
After much reading, deliberating, and bothering many of my fellow Pelicans with PMs re: which shifter I should use on my 915 equipped '82 SC, I am pretty certain I will be going with the RennShift with the longer lever.
I do have one question, though: Does the 915 RennShifter add additional noise? (Mechanical or otherwise). I plan to use the 20% throw reduction setting. I made a thread asking whether the 915 WEVO makes noise and rec'd some excellent insight. That thread can be found here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/989426-does-915-wevo-add-noise.html I am hoping for similar insight on the RennShifter, too. TIA. |
I installed one a couple of months ago and have only noticed improved shifting. Took the car on a 4K mile trip to Texas and didn’t seem to add any noise. Beautifully made and easy to adjust to get the shifting just right.

I didn't notice any increase in noise when installed in my 86 (915 transmission).

Yes. Installed on a 915.

I just wanted to close the loop here. I recently had the Rennshift installed and it is wonderful. No noise, and the throws feel great. Thanks everyone!

Not yet...
My rennshifter is sitting atop my tool box, waiting on a tranny overhaul and footwell rust repairs.
It has been fairly quiet. (Looking forward to the install). Chris |
