Just sharing some progress

Fellow member helped me with valves adjustment and finally was able to put the bottom together including exhaust all new gasket and stainless steel hardware and the cherry is bisimoto sound chamber.
Then Duane noticed my sum plate is off by 90 degrees so I have to fix that but yongs are getting almost done.

Next is top valve covers and cis box assembly.

Few photos that stroke me ego.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1524422715.jpg

Looks great

The bisimoto thing is the equivalent of those magnetic bracelets for people with arthritis. Does it work? There may be just a speck of science to it but you look like a goob having it on your car.

Does it work?
Yes haven’t fired the car yet after installing .
What I want to do for me is make more noise as I just don’t like the sound of sawing machine of the factory setup.
If it does that for me then it works.
If you are referring at making more power I couldn’t care less.

Rule no1 (or 2): don’t Drill holes in your airbox.

And: why’d you paint the WUR installed to the intake?

Isn’t the Bisimoto “thing” a creativly engineered variant of an exhaust? Thanks to Bisimoto, Fabspeed and M&K there is choice (all USA made and of excellent quality if you read enough posts about experience - notwithstanding fitment in rare cases). IMO there is an approximate equal (or at least equivalent) amount of science regarding noise level, measured HP gain, or seat of pants perception of HP gain from any exhaust system. It’s effectively non-existent. Show us 30 -50 engines (for 2.7, 3.0 and 3.2) with before and after blinded assessments done independent of the manufacturer, and we will have science. One assessment from one engine under non-QC’d conditions is singularly interesting but anecdotal by definition. I agree with OP on exhaust - who cares about exhaust-mediated HP gain in these cars. It’s the sound that makes an immediate and real impact on the owner. And the neighbor.

Your sump plate looks to be mis-aligned. The drain should be at 3 o'clock, not 6 o'clock (driver side, when engine in)

I can't believe this! An honest guy sharing his beloved car and on-lookers are just hatin?

SMH.....

It's nice to see another mid-year getting rebuilt and enjoyed.

Regarding the sump plate alignment - I think there is a real reason why you want it clocked correctly - something to do with oil pick-up location (assuming you're running a stock pump).

No kidding... A lot of high-horsed posters on this forum. I wished the underside of my engine looks like this...

Never underestimate the power of the ‘yong’

Thank you for your comments.
Yes, I did mention in my posting that I will be fixing the position of the plate.
I’m glad it was pointed to me as I didn’t think it makes any difference.

I’ve had few German classic cars in the past and with every forum there are the purists and the ones who like to do whatever they want to their cars, I’m in the second group.

I believe that after 40-50 years someone have found some flaws in the original designs and there is always room for improvement.

I always see the car mods as expression of individuality, some will like it some will not, ah c’est la vie.

I didn't mean to offend the Op with my comment but the pulse chamber "exhaust" is straight rice with a German price.
I like how tiddy everything else looks. Those heat exchangers look clean enough to eat off of! If you plan to keep the heat hoses off, be sure to put some block off plates up top on the fan shroud so you don't waste all that cooling air. It will make a big difference e come summer.

kavadarci 04-24-2018 06:13 PM

No offence taken.
I will be backdating the heated and add the hoses soon
