http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1524425933.jpg ^^^^^ Can any locksmith re-key a glove box lock using the ignition key? Thanks in advance, Gerry |
No need, you can remove the cylinder by pulling out the pin with a needle nose plyers. The pin is located in the groove in the middle, just take note of the spring mechanism.
My spring broke and I used an VW bus spring from their glove boxes, same manufacturer :-) $14 |
If you don’t want to diy, send to “tweet” / Dan on this site. He’s done a lot of work for me, first ding broken ignition locks and making missing keys from just the lock core. Very reasonable price, fast turnover. Highly recommend.

Any competent locksmith can re-key. A Porsche shop will have an assortment of the little tumbler bits. No matter who does it, it's a 5 minute job & should be inexpensive if you walk in with the pieces in hand.
