Jack height?
Hey Gang
Gonna grab a rolling floor jack for my 3.2 911 I will be doing simple maintenance and AC hose pull and bumperette removal type stuff What height should it go to - I borrowed one that went 14 inches for tires and it was fine but wondering if y’all think that might not be low for the other stuff Thanks! |

Hi Shaun - 14 inches seems a bit low. I just double checked and the lowest max height for any of our AC Hydraulic jacks is 19.7 for the low-profile model. I would suggest getting one at least with that minimum. Other members will likely chime in as well. I'm attaching a link to our jacks below - please let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks Dmitry
I appreciate the help Sidenote - sadly it is tough for me to buy from pelican with the duty levied. Any plans for a Canadian distributor? |

No worries at all - not that I know of, but it's something that I'll bring up to the team. I do know that we are working on improving our overall shipping pricing though. |

Just make sure you get a low profile jack for obvious reasons.

Don't work on the car sitting on the jack. Use jack stands then remove the jack.

harbor freight sells a low profile jack. one has more of a normal height and the other goes much higher. I bought the one that goes really hi as I have found getting cars higher off the ground to work on them is much easier.
it is a heavy jack but then I don't need to pick it up. it also has a neat feature where you can raise it with your foot instead of the handle. you cant use it with a load on it. its grey. the extra height is also good in that it has a long reach getting under cars.

Absolutely go for something in the higher range, I think mine goes 18 inches and it's really not great for when you start doing more involved work. Bear in mind that if you're using the jack pads for your car, you're actually losing a little height as well.
There are places with affordable low profile jacks that go into the 20s, if I were buying another right now, I'd aim for 24 inches.

Get one thats as low profile and high lifting that you can afford.
The AC DK13HLQ is one of the best you can find. Wil last you a long time!

this one.
its heavy, but if need to pick it up I will get my wife to lift it. don't think the 2ton range is low. I use it to lift the front of my daughters F250 with a 7.3 in it. the FRONT of that truck weighs more than my 930 https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/floor-jacks/2-ton-low-profilelong-reach-steel-heavy-duty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-60678.html

Or you could get this 3 ton for as low as $79.99 with a coupon: https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-low-profile-steel-heavy-duty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-61282.html Has about the same minimum height of 2 7/8" with a max of 20" instead of 23" I may have to get one of these.

![]() Having seen and used both of them, the first one, though more expensive, is a bargain, and that extra 4" feels like a lot. I got an arcam similar to the second option, and my buddy got the first, first is the way to go. I'm sure the AC one offered by our host is better quality.
