996 buy it now for $32K...
I know this has high miles but seems like a very low price anyway??? Are 996 prices coming down this much?

92k miles on a '99 car ???? That sure seems like an ungodly amount of miles per year and probably is what has driven the price down.

A lot of the high end market on eBay is really just a fishing expedition. I have been tracking 1999 996's for a few months and you can buy a decent 996 with <40K miles for $40-$42,000 but the majority never meet reserve. A lot of dealers do use the contacts and make deals off line.

Hell, I've seen 97 Boxsters for $25-27. I agree with Wayne about the 993 vs the 996.

I have seen boxers for $19,999 a couple of times. High milers but look good in the trader picture??
I think I would by a high mile 996 before a high mile 993. Not sure why? just a feeling. Either way it looks like you can get a good used tranny for $2500 and a good used motor for ~$8K for either car. Call me when they crack $25K : -))
