Recommendations for a windshield installer in Orange county California

Good morning. Looking for referral for a windshield installer in Orange County California. My front and rear windshield were removed as part of a repaint, looking for some competent help on getting them back in.

Thabks!

Good luck on that. In my area (S.D. Co.), there seems to be only one guy. He charges: $60 for the seal, $125 for the windshield, $150 for labor. You supply the gasket trim if it applies. I've installed windshields before, but I'm choosing to have him do it for the convenience of him supplying the gasket & windshield. I got a line on him by asking the standard installers who installed 911 windshields. The ALL referred me to him.

Hi Marv - thanks for the note.

Think he would travel to the Irvine area?

Apparently this is a dark art on the OC.

I will start asking local shops.

go with a recommended proven installer. I had my windows redone several times and I can confirm most glass shops seem to be unable

tdskip. No he won't travel to you. In fact I have to bring the car to him. Another possibility would be to contact your local PCA chapter & inquire who they might recommend or if they can refer you to someone who can recommend an installer.

If worse comes to worse, I'm in S.D. County and the guy is in S.D. & you could drive down or tow/trailer the car down & have it done. If it comes to that, I can give you the contact info.

Who is your S.D. contact? I need a new gasket installed, and URO parts just sent me their brand new and redesigned seal for review. Apparently this is fresh off the production line and is wider and supposed to be better, fixing the issues they previously had.

Could you pls PM me the contact info?

I assume he'll do rear window too? Regardless, can you PM me his info? I'd like to get this done.

Also, I'm looking for SD / North County SD recommendations for somebody to adjust driver door latch and rear decklid alignment. My passenger door is flawless in that it opens easily, closes easily and pings perfectly. My driver's side door needs A) a new rubber weatherstrip seal and B) is already tight against the existing seal so closing requires some force and upon opening the door pops a bit too forcefully off the weatherstrip seal. The upper window frame on the driver side may be too far in at the top. Driver's side still pings pretty well, but you can tell the fit is tight. It's subtle, but I notice it.

My car sprouted a tea tray tail at some point in the past 31 years and an accompanying high pressure dual decklid strut on the driver's side and all the accompanying issues associated with said strut. I've since removed the dual strut in favor of a single mechanical unit (no pre load) and I would like to adjust the decklid fit.

Thanks!!!

Check out All Quality Paint and Resto in Midway City (this is basically Huntington Beach, just north of the 405). Owner's name is Richard Leong. His number is (714) 501-0050.

All he does are classic BMW, VW, and 911 restorations. He just installed my 993 Carrera S windshield and he is my go to for anything classic 911.

If you know 993 windshields, it's that if installed wrong, they will creak like a mother Fer. Richard knows the quirks well.

Cheers.
