Heater Backdate Question
I removed the engine mounted heater fan last night but need a solution to capping the vent pipe coming off the exhaust. I can't find a part for that on Pelican. The left side fiberglass block off plate fit perfect. I also got the right side which online said it fit the 1987 3.2 engine model but see no place to put it. Removal was much easier than I thought. Attached are three pictures. The last one is a plug for the Hill Country Rally. First one is the pipe/vent to be capped. Next step is cleaning the engine area.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1525275639.JPG

Your going to need to order some ducting and a reducing elbow for that to work. I think I got mine from Pegasus Racing.
If memory serves, I believe it was 2.5"x 2.25" elbow. EDIT: You might have a different setup than I did. I heat backdated mine buy using a block-off plate with an open end to connect to the exhaust pipe you referred to. Not sure how to just block off the exhaust port |
Why would it need the ducting? I was under the impression the heater valves still get heat off the exhaust even without the blower fan using the engine fan or so I thought. Thanks for the input though. I'll keep checking. luckily I won't be needed much heat for several months.

Uh Oh. I think all I did was block off any heat. I need a different piece then I got from our host to route the heat from the fan to that hole/vent opening. Fun never ends. Thanks aread.

Are you backdating heat or removing completely?
