Question AdJusting rocker shaft

How do you readjust or align the rocker shaft. I have search the archives to find how to do so and wasn't successful.

I'm planning to take the rocker out of the cam housing to check the inside bushing in the rocker.

Thanks 4 help

All I do is center the shaft between the two ends and torque it down. There isn't any clocking. Suggest you install the rocker shaft seals, 2 on each shaft to keep them from seeping oil.

Well remember that the flanges that the rockers mount thru are different widths, to the shaft will be centered under the rocker arm, not between the flanges... On my car they were installed with the shaft just peeking out of the thinner flange.

Also the torque on them after you remove them is slightly higher than spec. I can't remember what is recommeded here but hopefully John Walker or Warren will comment here.

Recommends 20 ft/lbs on used rockers. Dry installation...
