Passenger brake light on when lights are turned on? HELP

Hey guys!

Driver’s side brake light works fine, turns on when brakes are applied although passenger side doesn’t work/ light up ...

When the night time driving lights are turned on, driver’s side light continues to work properly and the passenger side brake light comes full tilt as though brakes were applied. Passenger side light does not vary in intensity. It’s just on all the time at high intensity as if brakes were applied - this only happens when night time driving lights are turned on.

Thanks so much guys,
Mark

I'd check all the grounds and make sure the contacts are clean and corrosion free first. High resistance makes lights do some weird things.

sounds like the passenger side dual filament brake light bulb might be installed backward -- as the symptoms you're describing sound like contact is being made with the wiring for the wrong filament.

Also, make sure that both the filaments on the passenger side brake light bulb are intact/operational.

Thanks guys! It ended up being bad contact with the bulb. The contact plate for the bulb was loose. I opened up the tail light and made it nice and tight. Works perfectly now!

Thanks again guys.
