Question Anyone have early fuel pump diagram?

I presently have an early (1972) mfi fuel pump in pieces on my kitchen table. Does anyone have a diagram of the innerds? I thought I should ask before continuing disassembly, as it seems to be about one step away from becoming a unique table centerpiece.

Thanks for the pics and info Roninlb, I have down loaded all the great MFI info from this site onto my old computer but the picture quality was poor, due to old computer & software. I had seen these pics before but the contrast of the pictures was poor quality, the pics you supplied look great on my new computer the definition was what I was looking for. Thanks, I saved these and will refer to them in the future, as I have already had a few of these devils apart on my kitchen table. What I was really after though was actual diagrams /pictures of the innerds of the electrict fuel pump from the early mfi cars. I have an old rusty one apart on my table wondering if I should continue prying into it or if I may damage something?

your wondering, LOL.. what do ya think I'm doing, LOL...

anyway, all I got is a 2 page description of how this old Bendix works, electrically speaking.. don't even know what your looking for, literally speaking.. if you can give a literal description you may get info from PCNA.. who usually plugs you into Stoddard for this stuff.. they won't try to pressure sell you anything/don't worry.. guys like you keep the 911 history alive.. they want to help you.. and I think I've outlived my usefullness on this, LOL...

come to think of it. Early_S_Man[Warren] may be able to give you an educated opnion on what's happening. because I'm not as smart as I look, LOL

I don't have a diagram ... but suffice to say it is a typical Bosch roller-cell fuel pump. All MFI systems from '69 thru '76 use the same pump.

If it is already apart ... it may be time to make it part of an automotive art display hanging on the wall ...

Was it inoperative, noisy, or just rust and grime that made you feel the need to disassemble it? The maximum current drain in operation is 3.5 Amps at 12 Volts, and it is rated to deliver 125 liters per hour at 12 Volts.

As far as I know, all early MFI cars had a roller type fuel pump. Is the electric fuel pump you are referring to, original equipment for your fuel injection? Possibly, it isnt.

Good luck,
David Duffield
