Anyone install Stuttgart-Classica side mirrors?
Has anyone here purchased and installed the side mirrors from stuttgart classica? Stuttgart Classica Mirrors — Stuttgart Classica
I really like the look but they're a bit pricey so curious as to some actual reviews. Thanks! |
Those look like nice mirrors... but they sure are expensive. Especially when you add in the bodywork to close up the existing holes in the doors.

I'm in the same boat. Mirrors look very nice but to costly for me

Funny you should ask! I purchased a set for our '86 Carrera. I too LOVE the way they work BUT my friend who is doing the install for me is having a helluva time trying them to 'fit' properly. We won't give up but, so far, it's been a pita. I will say the guys over there a great to deal with and the mirrors are very well made, as are their other products. And yes, I've already spent the $ to close up the factory mirror holes. I can't give up now!

I got the Talbot 300 which is basically the same mirror as you know, but it gets installed in the door skin. After studying these (which I hadn't heard about before this thread), I am not feeling buyers remorse on my Talbot (which NOS costs the same by the way). The way I see it, you have to mess with the door skin one way or the other and, now that nvr2mny has commented on how difficult these are to install, the difference is split as far as I'm concerned.
BTW, the Singer cars have a similar mounting point for a bullet mirror, although there the whole thing is custom -- might even be heated for all I know! |

Appreciate the replies. I've been waffling back and forth between the 'Singer' look, the Talbot look on the doors, and traditional chrome flags that I'd eventually want to give that brushed look to. Too many nice cars in the mirror thread on this forum which don't make my decision any easier...
As a light DIY'er, sounds like mounting may be a bit more than I want. Liking the fact that someone (have to dig) wrote up a response on mounting the older style chrome flags w/o having to do any door skin fill. |
