seeking help on how to use durametric analyzer

Greetings all,
I recently purchased the the pro unit. I am actively searching for a clean car, I'm old, and manual cars dont thrill me, plus I hear using one on the fdr in inching traffic is no good. I did one test drive this month, car had 130k mi and 3 min into the test the parking brake fault light flashed on and off and continued to do so for the next 20 mins. That test cost a day at 350miles traveling. I got to that seller late and was unable to analyze the engine. The car was statically perfect but the fault light threw me.
Back to the topic. I've never used this analyzer yet and from talking to the dura' rep it has great powers. Right now I'm most interested in its ability to analyze for emission readiness and for the engine rev condition but things about the tranny interest me also. I wish I could practice on a real car with the device first but that doesn't look likely. I'm in NYC. Could some experienced person walk me through the steps for after the device is connected to car and software is loaded. Like which folders to open which tabs in that open folder. How to interpret the data results ect.
My next scheduled test drive is in a car with 110k but seller is offering minor warranty on car and its located in Ohio. This will cost me air fare, car rental, 50% refundable deposit(already paid). I really love these cars. Thanks in advance and yes I'm offering free scan(only no mech work) if you are local to NYC, inbox me on that, i'm available mainly weekends. I might want to hear from some legal reputable mechanics(local out of state welcomed) as well as a purchase is a must for me soon.

I have the Durametric but can only use it on my Macan ... my 85 Targa does not have OBD. Not sure what years you're looking into but I assume you've looked into which model years you can use the tool on?

The Durametric site has the user manual downloadable.
http://www.durametric.com/Durametric_Software_Instruction_Manual.pdf

In there, page 16 talks about the emissions readiness check. Flip through the manual to see all the things Durametric can do. Some features might only be available on certain model years.

I mainly use mine to reset service warnings, check the PDK wear, and when I had my 987 Boxster, I was monitoring for IMS issues.

Was poking around the Durametric site and found this page that shows what is available by Porsche model/year.
