Removing Cylinder Ring Gasket 82 911 SC
Hi,
Anyone have a trick to removing these? I made a few attempts using a seal puller but am concerned about buggering up the edges of the mating surfaces. Cross posting on 911 Rebuild Thanks if anyone has any hints. Searched forums but din't find anything.

Do not use anything metal. Try to use wood or plastic. There are probably people who have gone through this, my advice is to post this on the 911 Engine Building forum. But whatever you do, don't use metal tools...

Small sharp pocket knife blade. Use the blade, not the tip and twist it out. May have to go around to find a good place to start.

A little tiny screwdriver did the trick, they were quite gooped in as a result of the broken head studs. I used a shop rag as a cantilever to avoid the screwdriver contacting anything but the ring. So much for the "proper tool" seal remover. Thanks all.
