86 911 Carrara fan and fan surround stuck.

So, after taking my car out of New England winter storage, I heard this funny noise coming from the fan area. An occasional low rumble. 86,000 mi original everything. So thinking it was coming from the generator bearings, I took the belt off and there was a tiny bit of play in the generator shaft if I wiggled the fan. But worse than that, one blade was hitting the housing, YIKES. Just a touch, but a hit. So I took the bugger off the car.
Now I can not 1:get the fan off of the generator, 2: can not get the generator off the fan housing. Please help. I have tried gentile tapping with a small hammer and a drift at the generator small mounting bolts, and at the back of the fan. No movement at all. I have noticed a few cracks in the housing! Yikes again. I see an aluminum one is available. The prices for the fan and the housing, both magnesium are high.
Does anyone make something that costs less?
All help greatly appreciated.

Hi ..search is you ansfer here on pelicans or google.

1.used wood and hold the fan housing in your hands ,let it drop onto the wood -use gravity.turn it in your hand a apply the same dropping procedure.

2.If you cannot get the fan of the alternator(not generator) i suggest ..again piece of wood and hold the fan in your hands let it drop onto the wood.use gravity ...and finally wd40 prior the gravity works......

Sounds like the Carrera fan housing is broken in the area of the alternator base.
Use an eight mm Allen socket in the middle of the fan and hold fan with one hand tapping with a hammer on the Allen. Spin the fan as you tap.

Wow, the wood gravity method worked so well it is silly. I took both pieces of in less than a minute.
Thank you so much.

Awesome. Don't forget the 90+ minutes to actually get the fan in place for the wood trick.

90 mins if you are good.

It kind of seems like it defies physics, doesn't it? But it works.
