Tach connection with Megasquirt

I've just completed (almost) the installation of MS2 in my 86 911. One thing left to do is get the stock tach connected to the MS2. I see there are two wires from the stock DME that control the tach, black (B+ probably?) and black/violet (neg trigger, again probably?). Can anyone chime in with the correct connections to the MS2 Thanks

A separate post (with pics) on the install and ravings on how good it is will soon follow.

Black/violet wire is the signal input for your tach. The Carrera tach takes a 12Vpp input signal. The MS ECU runs on 0-12V square wave. Though I Have never tried it, they should be compatible.

The black wire is the injector pulse width from the DME. It is not needed. It can be disconnected and taped off. Or left in place if the DME harness has been unplugged and removed during your conversion.

Thanks Jamie I'll give that a try and report back on the findings. Curious though, why would the injector pulse width be sent to the tach? I'm guessing part of the upshift light circuitry?

Success! The MS2 tach output signal is completely compatible with the stock tach signal requirements. I'm getting the same RPM as Tuner Studio. Thanks Jamie
