Difference between 68 and 69 temperature sending unit
 

Hello folks,
this is my first thread on this board since I'm reading it !
I am considering the replacement of my temperature sending unit on my original 68 2.0T.
The problem is that a 68 temp' sending unit is $250 worth and a 69 model is $20 worth !
Have someone already exchange his temp sending unit for a later model ? is the 69 model compatible with 68 "plug hole" ?
