Need help identifying the parts

I have a pair of front turn signal housings. Obviously '69 thru '73 but the wiring is causing some confusion. I've never seen another housing with the wires running thru the unit itself. It all looks to be factory and not some on the fly repair. Any thoughts?

Your first picture shows what appears to be a "city light" bulb which was installed only in ROW cars, and, yes, the wiring did run through the front, as shown. Not sure of the other pics as I lost my orientation for comparison, but this link may help. It does look like someone may have done some improvising on the other bulbs (picture 3) given the way they are mounted and wired, however.
