How did I manage to damage fan....
Hi,
Went to work on idling issue on car and somehow managed to score and ruin my fan. Not real impressed with myself. Here is the photos. I remember seeing a reproduction fan being offered for sale here. Any pointers to that post would be grateful. geoffhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1528694817.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1528694962.jpg any suggestions helpful toohttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1528695007.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1528695007.jpg |
any suggestions?
can it be repaired?? |
Hi ..this happens when the alternator pulley is not tight and wrong sequence of shims when installed.
It cannot be repaired unless someone crafty enough can weld on it and then filed it down..For now get your self new pulley and new shims. You can drive for a while with it .. Ivan somebody here know where to send it for repairs,i`m sure |
Make lemonade from lemons by sending it to Supertec. They can replace the center section with a hard anodized aluminum fan hub. Or steel if desired.

I would send it to Ben / MB911. He does this stuff for a living.

Someone else pointed out this replacement hub sold by mh-teile on ebay.
They have hubs for other generations of fans also. |
