A new twist on an old dome light switch problem

You know the routine. After a ground short, the driver’s side switch was completely toasted. The wire fell down inside the door, yadda yadda. I’m waiting on some replacement switches from our host and didn’t want to chance having the bare wire slip down the hole again. I added a female insulated bullet connector on the ground wire side and a two-inch hook of insulated Romex on a male connector. The hook is too big to slip down the hole, but thin enough to shut the door so I can drive the car until the switches arrive. When they do, I’ll crimp a short length of wire to the new switch and a male connector to the other end and then use the male / female connectors to join the switch to the ground wire in the door. When the switch dies in the future, I can unplug the connector, put the quick connect hook half back on so I don’t drop the wire, and then install another switch with another disconnect. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...521907502d.jpg
