correct radio for 82

I have been keeping an eye out for a suitable cassette radio for my soon to be finished 82 targa. Can anyone give me a list of the correct radios that came with the cars as shipped or from dealers?
Thanks in advance.

My US car came with the Blaupunkt CR-3001. This was the common "digital" radio option that has the separate amp in the passenger footwell. They were all 2001's or 3001's in the US I think. They are tough to find.

The early US/Canada 1980-83 came with a Blaupunkt Monterey 22, the 83? Or 84, 85 came with a Blaupunkt Monterey 23. The 22 was a 2 channel radio the 23 was a 4 channel radio.

In line with the above, Blaupunkt CR-2001 or CR-3001 for US Cars is most likely. The CR-3001 came out in 81 but got more traction in 82. From what I understand the CR-2001 did not have an amp while the CR-3001 had the remote and amp which was usually mounted under the passenger side floorboard.

I would peek under the passenger floorboard. If you see an old amp or evidence of something once mounted there the size of a CD, you probably had the CR-3001. Else likely the CR-2001. Since you have an 82, decent chance it was the CR-3001

I have had a few of these japanese Blaupunkt radios and from what I can tell they are basically junk. Easy to find, but seldom in good shape. I have my CR-2001 in a box with the manuals and the blaupunkt 911 faceplate and that's where it belongs.

Assume any one you get will need a full refurb - I don't care what the seller says. When not used for years and years, the circuit board components can go bad / capacitors dry out etc. and can make for an interesting experience when a fresh 12 volts is applied (read: smelly plume of smoke). That was an interesting moment.
