Aux oil cooler seal

After 30 years the foam seal around my aux front oil cooler has given it up.
The new replacement is expensive. So the question is has anybody used the foam that is used on water pipes or other fixes?
Or can I just leave it off?

Put something there. It gets hot so you need something that won't melt...even a sheet of rubber cut to size would do it. Or hard plastic.

Yes, water pipe foam works just fine - in our 911 race car with 3 front oil coolers . . .

Regards,

Not ours but looks the same -

Sboxin: Any special glue.

Gerry: You are killing me. But Sboxin posted a pic before I could jack the car up and remove the wheel.

Sorry, was not sure which seal
you were referring to.

OSI930 has your fix.
