Unhappy mirror door switch - connections

OK, I screwed up, instead of pulling the ferrule on door cap that holds the mirror switch, I just tucked the whole cap over the window. When the door got jostled, all the spade connectors pulled out and I haven't a clue as to how to reattach them. Can anyone provide me with the details of which wire connects to which switch pole?

I read your post yesterday at work and then checked my factory manuals, etc. when I got home (assuming it's an 80's Carrera). The wiring diagrams just show the colors going to the switch, not their relative position.

I had a similar problem with my Jetta and just tried each wire individually until the operation of the mirrors matched the input movement of the switch.

FWIW, not much help tho.
