Phoenix Cancelled - Stuck in Long Beach this weekend

I've got some business in LA/Long Beach this weekend and was planning to fly to Phoenix and do a track event with a buddy on Saturday. Unfortunately the rebuild on his engine is way behind schedule so that won't be happening.

Now will be in Long Beach Friday night with red-eye back to ATL late Saturday. Anything local happening (track events, gatherings, etc.) or anyone care to meet to talk Pcars over a few beers?

I'll have some rental wheels (likely to be a Chevy) so can meet in the area.

You're gonna miss the Pomona Swap Meet by a few hours--Sunday a.m. Porsche/VW/hot rods only. See Pelican site for previous events/photos. Pomona is about one hrs drive east of LongBeach.

you can always go to Manhattan Beach with a frisbee for some babe action.. it's probably one of the best in the US.. Venice is different action.. rent a bike for a cruse on the beaches.. good free diving not far away/inside info imp, if your interested.. you can stop at M&B Wetsuits in LB and ask Don.. If your into wetsuits. he's one of the best.. plenty of trophy winners use him.. South of the Marina Del Rey beach is camera action.. or ask a friend to get you on a late afternoon 4hr sailboat ride out of the Marina... and some good massage places not far from LB.. enjoy

Go up PCH for about a 20 minute drive and visit Vasek Polak's Porsche dealership...been many years since I've been there but he usually had some nice race cars there. Are they still in biz since he died? Did they ever recover the stolen 917 motor(s) ...

The old Vasek Polak Porsche dealership (Hermosa Beach) is now a VW/Audi dealership, but will soon be a Sav-On Drugstore!! Aaargghhh.
Now the local Porsche dealer is Pacific Porsche, about 5 miles south on PCH, in Torrance, Ca. Unfortunately, unlike Vasek, no race cars here.

Look's like I'm either driving out to Streets of Willow, look for local Kart track or hitting the beaches (although weather doesn't look favorable).

Joeaksa - I'm in Phoenix about 2x a year so will give you a heads-up next time out. I usually run the trip over a weekend so I can get some track action in. Between PIR and Firebird seems like there's opportunities to run almost every weekend.
