Cabriolet windblocker

I'm looking for a windblocker that will fit an '83 SC. I have the original one that came with the car but I don't like the look or the function of it. Is there an aftermarket windblocker that anyone would recommend?

Performance Parts has it around $450. It does not work on my manual top for some reason. I am thinking about using the screen from 996. I might have to build a brackt to moun it.

Here's another....

I'm surprised by the lack of options here and the cost. I'd even consider fabricating one.

Do they work? I see them on the ragtop BMW's all the time, but never seen one on a Pcar? Checked out the websites posted here, they look alright; but do they work all that well?
I got my Porsche baseball cap for $20, it works great!

Good question Rob, that is one of the reasons I was looking for one. I've driven other cars with them and they worked quite well so I thought I'd see if there was an inexpensive one for the P-car. At $300 per, I think I'll see what I can make myself or stick with the cap.
Thanks for the help with the pelican thread rsr808, I looked for a thread but didn't plug in the right words.

I'm going to do the same for my Targa, but first I've got roof issues to address. One similar to the picture in the 2/12 windstop thread came with my BMW convertible. It reduces but does not eliminate wind turbulence, and it has a tendency to suddenly fold flat at high speeds and in crosswinds. The PO told me it cost him $450, ridiculous for plastic cheesecloth in a thin metal frame. When I told him to keep it and knock $450 of the price, he took the $450 off but threw it in anyway because it wouldn't fit his new BMW 7-series conv. My two cents: if you can't make one yourself in an afternoon from $50 of Home Depot materials that works and looks just as well as (or better than) the commercial ones, you should never touch your car with anything other than the butter-soft deerskin driving gloves protecting your immaculately manicured fingernails. Hear me now and believe me later! When I do the job I will post pictures proving it can be done!

Boy, is my face red! All that taunting and I couldn't even quote the right guy. Substitute above quote for the one in my previous post.

I thought your face was red from the lack of a wind blocker!

Maybe from sunburn in the summer. But the Targa is sealed up tight for the winter--no wind inside the car, but still lots of turbulence behind it.

Not sure it is worth $450, but I would sure like the functionality!

OT:
Targa911man,
How did you get that quote to show up in your post like that.
I've tried copying, clicking and pushing all the different buttons with no success. Do you have time to explain.
Sorry Off Topic, but it's probably a dying thread anyway?

OT:
Not interested, I like the wind and openess with the top down.

Thanks in advance Targa911man
