911 Turn Signals stalk

Hi

I recently installed a Momo steering wheel on the Porsche. The reset for the turn signal on the steering hub does not work all that great.

The turn signal stalk feels like it going to break if you try to cancel the TS manually.

A buddy suggested I use a Tapturn (TapTurn - home) or similar relay that will give you a programmable 3 to 5 flashes just by pushing the stalk left or right without fully engaging the switch.

Would something like this work on the Porsche ? Anyone have one fitted ?

Thanks

I have always felt that manually cancelling with my stalk is going to break something, and mine is a new unit (but old one was the same). Is that the norm? It’s defintiely not a light action, and cancels with a loud “crack”!

yup, thats how mine is too. Very loud and firm and feels wrong but thats how they all are. Perhaps it was designed that way for some reason?

I have an old Benz that has a firm gas pedal. I read that they made it that way so that on long drives you can rest the entire foot weight on it and it won't apply more throttle than you want. Helps with fatigue or something. Maybe the same engineer worked on the porsche turn stalk.

If you look in the original owners' manual, it says to "simply" hold the indicator lever while you change lanes, and only click it on when you are making turns at intersections etc. Clicking the blinker off manually always feels horrible. I try to avoid it.
