Tires BF GR Sport Comp 2 vs. Michelin Exalto PE2

I am looking for tires for the 83SC. The car had BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2s and I have been happy with them so far (ended up driving in 40F and they still did well). That said, two mechanics I've talked with have said they aren't really that good of tires when it comes to control and grip. I'm willing to experiment and try something else. One recommended the Michelin Exalto PE2, so I'm mainly looking at comparing the Sport Comp 2 to the PE2 (summer versions).

The car is a summer only car and I try to keep it dry, but I do like having a tire that can handle a little cold and wet when caught by surprise (think spring/fall road trip in the midwest). I've done a few autocrosses and would like to do more. There's a chance I'll end up on the track, but not planned for this year.

Here are some recent posts I've found, both tires seem to be recommended and do well at temps below 60F (though it's not always clear whether the summer or A/S is being discussed):

Tire Selection Decision

These are for 16s (currently runnin225/50R16 rear front 205/55R16). I was wondering what insights Pelicans have, thanks!

Have ran the PE2 for a couple of years or so, like them, really smooth I did some DE with them pretty hard on them but they wore well, you could see little wear on outer edges but they got slid some when I missed my line. Overall no surprises controllable. Would buy them again
Thanks
