Is a 1980 915 tranny a mag or alum case?
The numbers on my tranny for sale are very hard to read. Are 1980 915's aluminum or mag?

I can't confirm this from work, but I tend to believe it's aluminum. I know my '74 is magnesium.

US spec 915s of this era are aluminum. UK spec ones are aluminium.

78 was the first alum year. came with the 3.0 in the SC.
