Seems to be the go-to exhaust guy on this site. Good luck!

I have a set of the B&B headers and heat exchangers in 1 5/8 in very good shape. I'll post a photo today and you can see if this is what your looking for.

I would go 1 3/4" definitely. William Knight

Took a look and they are 1 3/4 instead of 1 5/8.

If you do not want to get the spendy headers - buy 993 headers. They are (if I remeber correctly 1 5/8) acceptable if you do not have a high end build, such as performance cams and induction. I am hoping that William Knight would agree, he is a respected engine builder.

They were used on the Cup cars in the day.

Thanks for the input everyone. I actually have 993 headers on the car now. Steve Weiner of Rennsport has been extremely helpful in steering me in the right direction with my car. He advised me that with a stock 3.6 the 1 5/8" headers are the way to go and I trust him.

Tzigoina and I were able to make a deal, they ship out tomorrow.

I highly disagree with the 1 5/8" header opinion on a 3.6. The 1 3/4" are the way to go. William Knight

In 1996 I put one of the first 993 stock engines in a 1983 SC, The only help I had on a little of the wiring was Jeff Gamroth. I had made an exhaust out of the 993 headers and it worked OK. I put 1 5/8 Georges headers on it. It seemed alright but kinda weak above 5000 rpm. I changed to 1 3/4" on the motor and WOW it came alive with no change in the lower RPM range. I have never looked back 26'5" to collector and 1 3/4". I have many clients with 3.6 motors using my 1 3/4" header with incredible drivability. William Knight 615.969.4917

Hopefully he bought them for the 3.6. I know the 1 3/4" is what a 3.6 needs.
