Are you sure that picture's not from a later 3.2? My '80 center vents are pathetically smaller.

No, I'm not - the horizontal slats and the slat size look like mine, but I can't say for sure - I'll take a pic of mine and upload it.

Are you stalking me?

Jon from EBS Racing here. Looks like we got a new one of those in our Parts Heaven 50' container purchase. Its an aftermarket URO parts, good quality. Fits 911 1977-85 with factory air conditioning $58.00. We received 40 pallets of new and used engine parts from Parts Heaven that needs to move...we have no room for it. Please email if you would like to received updates while we unpack

That's about what mine looks like too. Congrats on finding the correct replacement! I'm not keen on the later style either.

Probably a dumb question but... can the vents be taken out of the housing? The housing that snaps into the dash is broken on the one I replaced. I'd give someone my old one if it would help them replace broken vents.

Our vent assembly 911 571 067 03 is the mid-1970s style for models with A/C option M559, per PET. The photo of the vent with horizontal slats is probably p/n 911 571 067 02 for models without the A/C option.

Back in those days Porsche was known to mix parts on the assembly line based on availability, so it's quite possible the two styles may have been used interchangeably.

I suspect that you are correct, as my '79 delivered with factory equipped a/c.

Mark, PM me email address to send photos, I have a pair of the grill only that you could use if yours are totally damaged.

Looks better

Before:

After:

I had to improvise with a Dremel and crazy glue to create posts for the center vanes, but all came out well.
