One thing to know about Thailand....anyone owning a Porsche there is stinking rich.
The import duties on anything not made in Thailand is at least 500%.
How'd you like to pay close to a million US for your new GT3?
It's crazy, but they do protect their local industries that way.
Some car manufacturers get around this buy building "knockdown" cars which are mostly manufactured outside of Thailand but then somewhat assembled inside of Thailand.
Mercedes does this.

There are many exotics seen driving around Bangkok (why you'd want to do that in Bangkok considering the traffic is a whole other issue), so there are definitely very wealthy individuals that live in Thailand.
